Deputy Prime Minister. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar arrived in Cairo on Saturday to participate in the 4th meeting of the R-4 Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and Egypt.

"On the sidelines of the meeting, the foreign minister will also hold bilateral meetings with the participating foreign ministers. call on the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi," the ministry added.

According to the MoFA X post, FM Dar also received a telephone call from Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov.
The ministry said, "FM Saidov felicitated, on behalf of his President. himself, DPM/FM on the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and commended the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, FM Dar and Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir for the constructive role in facilitating the process".

"He appreciated Pakistan’s efforts as a mediator. acknowledged its significant contribution to advancing international peace efforts, as well as promoting regional peace and stability," the foreign ministry added.

The ministry further said both leaders expressed hope that the progress achieved would be carried forward into the next phase of engagement, contributing to lasting peace, stability. prosperity in the region and beyond.
The two foreign ministers agreed to maintain close contact on matters of mutual interest, it added.
