Law provides for religious protection to all: FCC Chief Justice Aminuddin

LAHORE: Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan on Saturday said that every person working for religious harmony. tolerance deserves appreciation.

He was speaking at the Justice A.R Cornelius Conference hosted by the Implementation Minority Rights Forum at a hotel.

The FCC chief justice said that every citizen is guaranteed religious protection under the law. He stated that safeguarding the religious rights of minorities is not only a legal obligation but also a moral responsibility.

FCC senior judge, Justice Ali Baqar Najafi, also speaking at the conference, said that religious freedom is a fundamental right of every individual. is guaranteed under Pakistan’s Constitution as well as international treaties.

He stressed that everyone must respect the right to religious freedom.

“Do not interfere in others’ faith and do not abandon your own,” he added.

Justice Najafi said that the parliament, the executive and the society have a collective role in ensuring religious harmony.

Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar said that all institutions should serve the nation within their constitutional limits.

He stated that events highlighting personalities such as Justice Cornelius are important. such figures should be remembered and acknowledged for their contributions.
