Sai Sudharsan and Gill make it a GT one-two at the top of IPL 2026 Orange Cap table

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) hosted Gujarat Titans (GT) at Eden Gardens on Saturday. beat them by 29 runs - that's No. 8 beating No. 2 -. while there was no major change on the Purple Cap table at IPL 2026 at the end of it, the Orange Cap table was left looking very different.

GT lost, but their openers, B Sai Sudharsan. Shubman Gill, did their bit to try and chase down KKR's 247.

Sai Sudharsan, after retiring hurt when he was struck by a Kartik Tyagi delivery in the third over of the chase when on 23 off 13 balls, returned to bat in the 17th over when Gill was dismissed, for a 49-ball 85,. scored 30 more runs off 15 more balls to finish unbeaten on 53 off 28.

That took his aggregate for the season up to 554, and the top spot on the run-scorers' table. Familiar territory, since he was the Orange Cap winner in IPL 2025.

Gill's third 80-plus score of the season, meanwhile, lifted him to second spot, with 552 runs.

In the process. they temporarily pushed down Heinrich Klaasen of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who is the only other batter with 500-plus runs this season with 508, to third place.

Rounding off the top five were Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Klaasen's colleague Abhishek Sharma; Kohli has 484 runs and Abhishek 481.

Some way off the top - outside the top ten. in fact - KKR batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi continued his good work for the season with an innings of 82 not out in 44 balls, which lifted him to 13th place with 422 runs. It was his fifth half-century of the season, below Sai Sudharsan's six (plus one century) and joint with four others.

Nothing to see here, really. Rashid Khan. Tyagi, in a group of four at 16 wickets before the game started, remained there after going wicketless. Kagiso Rabada also went without a wicket to remain in second place.

Rashid. Tyagi, along with Prince Yadav of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and SRH's Eshan Malinga, are only below the top three of RCB's Bhuvneshwar Kumar, with 22 wickets, followed by Rabada, who has 21, and Anshul Kamboj of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), with 19.
