New Zealand bowl first as weather threatens Cardiff ODI

New Zealand won the toss and chose to bowl vs England

New Zealand have won the toss. sent England in to bat first under threatening skies in the third and final ODI of their series in Cardiff.

England lead the series 1-0 after winning the opening match in Durham by one wicket ahead of last Wednesday's washout in Northampton.

They named an unchanged XI from the one which lost in Durham,. which was intended to contest the second game. Opener Suzie Bates is making her 184th. last ODI appearance as she intends to retire from international cricket after the upcoming T20 World Cup.

England. meanwhile, tinkered with their intended XI from Northampton, replacing Maia Bouchier with Jodi Grewcock, who opened the batting alongside Emma Lamb during her international debut in Durham. They also opted for an extra seamer. bringing back Lauren Filer, who had been left out of the XI on Wednesday, with left-arm spinner Tilly Corteen-Coleman making way here.

Rain delayed the start by an hour. more is forecast throughout the afternoon, with play set to begin at midday local time under cloudy skies.

The sides will meet again in a three-match T20I series starting in Derby on Wednesday.
