Warns India not to misjudge Pakistan's desire for peace as weakness; any misadventure will be met with full strength
The National Assembly (NA) on Monday passed a unanimous resolution expressing a deep sense of national pride. highlighting the unmatched professionalism, vigilance, extraordinary preparedness and resolute response demonstrated by the armed forces on May 10, 2025, in the face of unprovoked and unwarranted Indian aggression.
The resolution moved by Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar deplored that in the aftermath of thePahalgam terrorist incidenton April 22, 2025, in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu. Kashmir (IIOJK), a "malicious campaign" was immediately orchestrated by India and amplified by its state-sponsored media to baselessly implicate Pakistan without any evidence or investigation, even though the incident was categorically condemned by the government.
It stated that the house condemned that, despite a sincere. generous offer by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to participate in any neutral, transparent and credible investigation into what was described as a false-flag operation, India proceeded to launch an unprovoked airstrike on Pakistan on May 6, 2025, targeting innocent civilians.

The NA paid rich tributes to the armed forces, which, under the leadership. command of PM Shehbaz and Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, launched Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, delivering a befitting response to the aggression.
The house commended the bravery. operational excellence of the Pakistan Air Force, which swiftly established air superiority and shot down multiple Indian aircraft, including Rafale jets.
It also extended gratitude to all officers, soldiers, airmen. sailors of the armed forces for makingOperation Bunyanum Marsoossuccessful through courage, professionalism and sacrifice.
It further stated that, in retaliatory strikes, armed forces targeted. destroyed an Indian brigade headquarters, air force and aviation bases, including BrahMos facilities, which had fired missiles into Pakistan and killed innocent civilians. It added that JF-17 Thunder jets destroyed India’s $1.5 billion S-400 air defence system.
The house also praised the Pakistan Navy for its strategic preparedness. robust response, which successfully thwarted intrusion attempts, forcing the enemy to retreat.
It honoured the martyrs of the armed forces who laid down their lives in the line of duty. inflicted a defeat upon a numerically superior enemy across all domains of warfare, including land, air, sea and cyber.
The resolution acknowledged the contribution. technical expertise of Pakistan’s cyber warfare experts in countering cyber-attacks by Indian hackers, stating that several Indian strategic systems were rendered dysfunctional. It also acknowledged the contribution of the entire nation, including members of both government and opposition.

It further warned India that Pakistan’s desire for peace should not be misconstrued as weakness, adding that any misadventure against Pakistan’s sovereignty. territorial integrity would not be tolerated, and that the defence forces would respond with full strength.
It stated that the house reaffirmed the nation’s unwavering resolve to stand with the armed forces in defending the geographical. ideological frontiers of the country.
The NA also expressed deep grief over the deaths of family members of political figures. paid tribute to security personnel and others who embraced martyrdom in recent incidents of terrorism and violence.

During the proceedings, NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq informed the members about the deaths of the 22-year-old son of Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani. the 19-year-old daughter of MNA Muhammad Iqbal Khan. The lawmakers offered prayers for the deceased and expressed sympathy with the bereaved families.
The NA also expressed sorrow over the deaths of the brother of MNA Sardar Ghulam Abbas, the father-in-law of MNA Daniyal Aziz,. former MNA Farooq Azam Malik.
Members paid tribute to Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Hussain, who laid down his life during an operation againstFitna al-Khawarij,. former Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa MPA Maulana Muhammad Idrees, who was also martyred.
The NA further condemned theterrorist attackat the Bannu police station. offered prayers for the police personnel martyred in the incident.
MNA Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri offered collective prayers for all the deceased and martyrs.

Protecting media workers remained govt’s top priority: Tarar
Speaking in the NA on a point of order, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said both the federal. provincial governments were working around the clock to facilitate media channels and address their operational and financial issues to ensure their sustainability.
He further said the matter would be taken up with the Pakistan Broadcasters Association to ensure. no employee lost their job. He stressed that the job security of media workers was a priority, along with improving their service structure and benefits.

Tarar said that arrangements regarding job security. improved service benefits for media workers would be finalised through consultations, adding that steps would be taken to resolve the issues faced by media workers in a systematic and structured manner.
The minister further said that the government would work in consultation with coalition partners as well as members of the opposition to collectively address. resolve the concerns of media employees.
