ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) board on Monday in principle decided to form three agencies – Solid Waste Management Agency, Parks. Horticulture Agency Islamabad (PHAI) and Islamabad Water Agency.
The CDA board, which met with Chairman retired Lt. Sohail Ashraf in the chair, besides other agenda items, made several policy decisions.
The board also approved formation of Project Management Unit (PMU) for Environment Wing for carrying out development projects of the wing without involvement of the engineering wing. On a summary moved by member environment Abdullah Khurram Niazi, the board approved the formation of PMU.
Meanwhile, sources said the member environment should ensure posting of engineers with good reputation at the PMU. “Some engineers with tainted reputation, even one with two years of increment deduction for corruption charges. known for carrying out projects before tenders, are making efforts to get the main posting at PMU for executing development projects at the environment wing,” said an official.
