Pakistan, Ghana to enhance military ties

Pakistan. Ghana have expressed the resolve to enhance military-to-military relations, specifically focusing on joint training, counter-terrorism, and defence production, according to a statement issued by the ISPR.

The development took place as Ghana Armed Forces Chief of Defence Staff Lt Gen William Agyapong called on Field Marshal. CDF Syed Asim Munir at GHQ, Rawalpindi.

Upon his arrival, the visiting dignitary was presented a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out Tri-Services contingent.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security,. bilateral defence cooperation were discussed, the ISPR said, adding that both the sides resolved to enhance military-to-military relations, specifically focusing on joint training, counter-terrorism, and defence production.

The visiting dignitary "highly commended" the Pakistan Armed Forces for their professionalism and role in regional stability.

Later, Ghana National Security Coordinator Abdul Razak Osman called on CNS Admiral Naveed Ashraf at Naval Headquarters. Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu at Air Headquarters, Islamabad. Lt Gen Agyapong was also in presence.
