Australia bowl first in series opener, hand Liam Scott debut

Australia won the toss and decided to bowl against Bangladesh

Australia captain Josh Inglis decided to bowl first after winning the toss against Bangladesh in the first ODI in Dhaka. The visitors have picked allrounder Liam Scott for his ODI debut while Cooper Connolly is opening as Australia shuffle the batting order.

Australia will bank on the variations of Nathan Ellis and the accuracy of Adam Zampa in their bowling attack. Matt Kuhnemann and Ollie Peake have been left out from the side that finished the series in Pakistan.

Bangladesh have gone for a three-man pace attack including Nahid Rana who has taken three five-fors in as many series in the last three months. They have also included Mosaddek Hossain for the first time since August 2022. with the allrounder likely to bat in the middle order.

This is the first ODI series between the two sides since 2011.
