QUETTA: A senior official of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) was gunned down by unknown armed men in Noshki town on Thursday. while two dacoits were killed in exchange of fire with police in the provincial capital.
The incident took place at Ahmedwal Chowk of Noshki when the CTD official was sitting in a shop. The armed men on motorcycles reached the area and opened fire seriously injuring Baba Jan Mohammad Hasni. He was taken to district hospital where he died.
According to police, the body of the CTD official was handed over to family members. a case was registered against unknown gunmen.
A search operation was launched in the area to arrest the criminals. No one has claimed responsibility for the murder of the CDT official.
In a separate incident in Quetta, two suspected robbers were killed in a police encounter near the city’s taxi stand.
Police said the armed suspects were allegedly robbing citizens early in the morning when police arrived on the spot. Seeing the police, the suspects allegedly opened fire. The police also returned fire, killing both suspects on the spot.
