Faheem Ashraf signed to fill Will Sutherland-shaped void at Yorkshire

Yorkshire have signed Pakistan allrounder Faheem Ashraf for their Vitality Blast campaign. Faheem. 32, who will also be available to play in two rounds of the County Championship, comes in as a replacement for Will Sutherland, after a shoulder injury ruled the Australian out of a return to Headingley.

Faheem, who has previously played county cricket for Northants. Sussex, will arrive ahead of Yorkshire's opening Blast encounter, against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge, on May 22 and be involved throughout the competition. He could also feature in Championship games against Warwickshire at Scarborough and the trip to Leicestershire in June.

"I'm delighted to be joining Yorkshire," Ashraf said. "Many of my fellow Pakistan players have represented the club. have spoken highly of both the environment and the quality of players within the squad. I'm really looking forward to arriving at Headingley."

Faheem has been capped 85 times in T20Is by Pakistan. also has experience of playing in the Big Bash and BPL, as well as the Blast. He recently became the second player in the history of the PSL to score 1000 runs and take 100 wickets.
