The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Police on Saturday killed five suspected terrorists in a series of intelligence-based operations launched after the attack on the Fateh Khel checkpost in Bannu district. police officials said.

It further said that Hayatullah was also a notorious target killer wanted in several serious cases.

The statement said that police added that two other terrorists involved in the Fateh Khel attack, identified as Asad Yar. Naimatullah, were also killed during the operation.

It added that the dead militants also included an important commander identified as Mansoor.

The statement maintained that the slain militants were wanted in attacks on security forces, Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel, police officials. civilians.

Speaking after the operations. Bannu RPO Sajjad Khan said authorities would account for “every drop of blood” shed by martyrs, adding that “the brave sons of Bannu know how to defend their soil”.

He said operations against militants would continue without interruption until complete peace was restored in the district.

Meanwhile, K-P IGP Zulfiqar Hameed commended the Bannu police for the operations and announced cash rewards for the personnel involved.

“The Bannu police have written a new chapter of bravery. we will continue efforts until terrorist networks are dismantled,” the IGP said, adding that enemies of peace and their facilitators would be eradicated from the province.
