Prince Yadav rises to third place on IPL 2026 Purple Cap table

There was no major change at the top of the Orange Cap table in IPL 2026 after Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by nine runs on Thursday night,. there's action on the Purple Cap table, which we will start with.

Prince Yadav. Virat Kohli. for one, will remember the name after the LSG quick's peach to send the RCB legend back for a second-ball duck. That was Prince's first wicket; he finished with 3 for 33 and moved to joint-second with 16 scalps.

That's the same as Kagiso Rabada of Gujarat Titans (GT). Eshan Malinga of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), but Prince is ahead of them on economy rate: he has gone at 8.08 so far, while Rabada (9.23) and Malinga (9.44) have been more expensive.

The trio are behind RCB's Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Anshul Kamboj of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who both have 17. Bhuvneshwar could have gone clear at the top but went wicketless against LSG.

Kohli, too could have moved up the run-scorers' table. couldn't add to his 379 runs for the season, leaving him stuck at No. 9. Mitchell Marsh, though, rose sharply to No. 12 after scoring 111 in 56 balls, which took him to 367 runs for the season.

The table is led by the SRH duo of Heinrich Klaasen (494 runs). Abhishek Sharma (475), followed by KL Rahul of Delhi Capitals (445), SRH's Ishan Kishan (409) and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi of Rajasthan Royals (404).
