Connects Quetta to Peshawar via several cities in Sindh and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa
The Jaffar Express. one of Pakistan Railways' most vital passenger trains, remained suspended for the second consecutive day, leaving hundreds of passengers in severe hardship.
According to railway sources, the train service was halted due to unavoidable circumstances. The Jaffar Express, which operates on the key QuettaPeshawar route, was turned back from Jacobabad Railway Station. Passengers were forced to return after hours of waiting, disrupting their travel plans entirely.
The Jaffar Express is a preferred mode of travel not only for general passengers but also for a large number of students, traders,. government employees, as it connects Quetta to Peshawar via several cities in Sindh and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. With the service completely shut for two days, railway stations witnessed significant crowds and growing anxiety among stranded travelers.
An affected passenger, Amanullah, told The Express Tribune: "I was traveling with my family to Peshawar. I have been stuck at the station for two days. The train is not running, and there is no clear information. We don't even know if we will get a refund for our tickets."
